Press Release, National Concert Hall of Ireland: The National Concert Hall is delighted to announce that its International Master Course scheduled for August will go ahead online this year. Scheduled to take place from Tuesday 4th to Friday 7th August, the course comprises online masterclasses and seminars culminating in an all-faculty panel discussion available to view on NCH YouTube and Facebook Channels.
Led by Artistic Directors Gwendolyn Masin (violin) and Finghin Collins (piano) this year’s International Master Course offers Irish and international musicians the opportunity to partake in a series of masterclasses, tutorials and seminars by a faculty of musicians comprising: leading cellist and professor at the Queen Elizabeth Musical Chapel in Brussels Gary Hoffman; Grammy-Award-winning violist Kim Kashkashian who teaches at New England Conservatory; and leading French violinist and tutor Gilles Apap, described by Yehudi Menuhin as “a true violinist for the 21st century”.
Collectively they are highly regarded soloists and chamber musicians who have performed in some of the world’s most illustrious concert halls and festivals with renowned conductors and ensembles. The wealth of their combined experience is outstanding, providing a unique and rare opportunity for aspiring musicians to learn from.
Seminars
Each of the faculty will give a seminar on a topic of their choice during the online course, with space to answer participants and views questions. Each seminar will be approximately 40 mins long, with 20 mins for questions. The seminars will be available to view online on NCH YouTube and Facebook channels.
Master Classes
The course also sees a series of five masterclasses, one given by each of the faculty members tutoring up to three experienced musicians each. Everybody is welcome to join and view the masterclass online. The masterclasses will be streamed live on the NCH YouTube channel, please note the finish times are approximate.
Panel Discussion
The intensive week of tuition and talks will culminate in an all-faculty panel discussion at 7.30pm on Friday 7th August which will be available to view on the NCH YouTube and Facebook Channels.
